Oct 15 or is it 16? Kuala Lumpur

Here at the Hilton in Kuala Lumpur we have met up with David, Bibi's son, who is the force behind this whole trip....he works in KL and considers the Hilton as his home away from home...and what a home it is! My suite is fabulous....and David's is palatial... we are being spoiled rotten...thank you David!

At Petronas mall...Bibi with friend

I am blogging from the executive lounge on the 33rd floor, overlooking downtown Kl with its twin towers, until recently the highest buildings in the world. The city is very green, and very western....if it weren't for the palm trees far below I could forget that I am in a country halfway around the world from home.

Bibi and I went shopping yesterday in one of the innumerable malls of KL- it seems shopping is the favourite pasttime here- and found ourselves in a mall that could have been anywhere in North America...the same stores, the same food outlets (Starbucks, Pizza Hut, MacDonalds), the same prices.... Bibi is off to catch butterflies with her camera, I am catching up on email and blogging.
